愛德總是從我們自己開始：如果我們不愛自己的靈魂，我們能愛我們弟兄姊妹的靈魂嗎？如果我們不努力聖化自己，我們會實現或渴望使他人成聖嗎？

La carità incomincia sempre da noi stessi: se non amiamo l’anima nostra, potremo amare quella dei fratelli? E se non vogliamo con tutto l’impegno raggiungere la santità per noi, potremo raggiungere o aspirare a far raggiungere la santità agli altri? (Pr 5, 90-91).

La caridad empieza siempre por nosotros mismos: si no amamos nuestra alma, ¿podremos amar la de los hermanos? Y si no queremos con todo el ahínco alcanzar la santidad para nosotros, ¿podremos lograr o aspirar a que la alcancen los demás? (Pr 5, 90-91).

Charity always begins with ourselves: if we do not love our soul, will we be able to love that of our brothers? And if we do not want to reach holiness for ourselves with all our commitment, will we be able to achieve or aspire to achieve holiness for others? (Pr 5, 90-91).
