他的使徒工作，是一個持續的奇蹟，不管是在方式方面也好，或是在環境方面也好，或是在歸化方面也好。「我比眾人工作得更多。」
保祿會士，從這位使徒手中，領取了他自己的法典；他奉聖保祿為自己的慈父和導師：「愛是容忍的，愛是慈祥的，愛不嫉妒……」
你們應該時常記住聖保祿的榜樣。他在進行他的使徒工作時 ，做了那麼多的工作，受了那麼多的痛苦，卻總不厭倦，終於他能夠這樣說：「這場賽跑，我已跑到了終點。」如果你們以信德和熱枕去進行你們的使徒工作，而不厭倦，那麼到了生命結束的時候，你們也可以說：「我已完成了那託給我做的那個高尚的使徒工作，現在我等待賞報。」
妳們看看他的勇敢吧！現在有這樣的趨勢，想把倫理和神修加以緩和……那些嬌養自己的女孩子，不是效法這位使徒的人。他雖有一顆這樣善惑的心，真像一位慈父，同時又像一位慈母，卻不要懦弱、屈服，或過度的寬縱。
一個舉目望天的靈魂，拋下所有的東西，好能更自由地奔跑。聖保祿說，那些在運動場上賽跑的，不是背著包袱或箱籠，卻祇穿著必要的衣服，好能跑得更快。那些真正愛神貧的靈魂，也朝天上跑得更快，因為他們是陪著耶穌。
