14. 聖經上說：「上主的神臨到我身上」（依六一 1）。天主創造祂所指定成聖的人，祂也陪伴他們走聖德的道路，給予他們多種才能。在領洗時，為了他們未來的使命，聖神將特殊的恩寵傾注給他們。之後，再藉聖事、告解和聖體時常給予恩寵。
這朵小花在堂區、家庭、學校和一切環境中受到細心的照顧。她不僅順服，而且慷慨。後來，她進入聖亞納職校時，認識了修會生活。
她體弱多病，可是天主做祂所願的事。一般來說，聖德需要操行和生活基礎。首先應有本性的德性、群體的德性、家庭的德性，然後在這些德性上建立基督徒和會士的德性。
約在二十歲時，天主召喚她和一小群年輕女子一起準備成為聖保祿孝女會修女。因健康欠佳，入會時曾懷疑自己是否能繼續。的確，在剛入會時，就顯示出她身體的軟弱與疾病。可是天主在這方面也干預，賜以聖寵、毅力和明智，使她活到七十歲，並且完成了許多不容易的事，一生不斷地工作，既軟弱又堅強地善盡職責。
15. 聖保祿孝女會的初期訓練是很艱苦的，因為是一項新的使命。當時是由基愛沙神父負責訓練，戴格蘭修女因此心胸豁達，願為人靈工作並開始喜愛應用科技工具。她也是阿爾巴區聖高邁及聖達勉堂區優秀的傳道老師。因此在基督徒的德性中加上了會士的德性。
16. 由於她善良、謙和的榜樣，受人敬愛，受託照顧團體，一直到死。現在我們也相信她在天上保佑我們。
她以榜樣和祈禱作為管理團體不可取代的方法。她的命令都是溫和的，許多修女可為此作證。這是一種新的聖召和使徒工作，她始終在前方領導、支持所有的修女。在不同的環境和困難中，她常是齒輪上的潤滑油。有一天，她在都林說：「從今天起，我會在前方領導修女、鼓勵她們，也預防危險，以及如何在宣傳中自我介紹並獲得效果。」
17. 會憲的準備、批准、教堂、新會院、聖召不斷增加、修會的管理等，在一個新的修會是有點特殊的。但她克服一切，尤其是靠朝拜聖體來克服。修會內部及外在的歷史，她的生平、德性，大家都熟悉，聖保祿孝女會修女都很認識她。每一年是新的一頁，有益又教人興奮的一頁。我不知道聖保祿孝女會的人數，但我在一九六三年視察會院時，體會到修女們多麼認識修會的使徒精神。
18. 前天，監護人拉勞納樞機向我們的一位神父說：「我一生所見過的人中，戴格蘭總會長是最明智的一
位」。
不過，也應該加上她曾有過多位精明的助手，以及她派遣在海外創設會院的人，你們已熟悉此事。有時看來好像選擇了不當的人選，但事實證明是天主聖神的指引。
19. 大家都知道她協助所有的開創工作，一直到最後成立的諸宗徒之后修女會。在集會時，她給修女許多勸導，甚至指點哪些款式可作為會衣。
20. 她不僅是會長，更是修會之母。你們會有其他的會長，即那些盡職且追隨戴格蘭修女的人；但她們不是會母。為此，你們要學習她的精神，記得她的榜樣，誦讀她所寫的東西，特別是實踐她的勸言、指示和演講。她會在適當的時機，以合宜的方式解釋，因此所有的修女很容易接受她的建議。這一切你們都要放在心中。
21. 她以許多的犧牲指出了途徑，開拓了看似十分冒險和困難的步伐。她身體很弱，可是精神很強，堅毅地服從並具犧牲的精神。天主常常獎賞她的德性。為此你們要追隨她的芳蹤，即她的會士精神和使徒精神。
她常常說要帶給人靈一切好處，帶給世界光明。她忠信地實行三種敬禮：對耶穌導師、諸宗徒之后及聖保祿宗徒。啊！現在你們應該追隨她所開展的道路，那是一條導向成全的路，是本修會繼續發展的道路。
最後，我強調需要妥善選擇聖召，準備他們作使徒工作；務必要妥善準備，因為這是保祿修會生活的特色和特徵。你們跟隨吧！
