三〇年代末，在諾羅省的一個小村子，我們把一本聖經交給擔心該地區乾旱的一位男士。我們中一位修女對他說：「您買這本聖經，並且唸聖經，您將很快見到下雨。」他真的信我們的話，並向別人說：「你們買這些修女們的聖書，念聖書，放在家裡，乾旱就會過去，你們將見到所要的水。」
我們很擔心我們膚淺的說法，於是我們求天主說：
「主啊，祢要設法! 請祢看這些人的信德而俯聽他們!」
天主真的聽了。下午一場大雨解決了這些問題。
第二天，主日，本堂神父在祭台上談到下雨之事，他說是天主聖道的書本所帶來的恩寵。
在那村子裡，我們的臨在被視為是天主的降福。

有一次我們去福傳，我們敲門時，一個女青年出來開門，看到了我們，她就哭起來了。我們問她發生了什麼事，她答說：
「我父親病得很重，可是他不想領受聖事。修女，請妳們為我父親和我祈禱。」
我們給了她一本福音，許下為她爸爸和她祈禱。
翌年，當我們再去時，我們遇到了那位姑娘，她高興地給我們說：
「修女，妳們去年留給我的書，使我父親歸化了。我當時在他床邊，在想怎麼準備他面對死亡，他問我床頭櫃上的是什麼書？」
「是兩位修女帶來的福音書—我答說—你要不要聽一段？」
我讀了耶穌死在十字架的事蹟。我的父親沉思一下，眼中流下了淚。我問他：
「爸，你為什麼哭？」
「唉，因為我也要死，可是我還沒有準備好。」
「假如你願意，我去請神父來為你準備。好嗎？」
「好。」
神父來了，父親辦了告解，領了聖體，領受了病人傅油，與天主和好後逝世。

下面的事是發生在一九三三年的賈凡勞（羅維高）。
我們前幾個月曾在該村，本堂神父要我們再去一次。
我們開始訪問一個家庭工廠，廠內有三十五個人，當特維耐篤地方都是如此。家長買了一本聖經，立刻向所有的人唸了一段聖經。那是申命紀的第二十七__二十八章，列出忠於盟約和不忠於盟約者所受到的祝福及詛咒。
在場的人中間有一個牛仔，他從來不進堂。天主的話打動了他。第二天早晨他去教堂辦了告解。

下面一段是一位太太和兩位保祿會修女間有趣的談話：
「願耶穌基督受讚美。太太，您好嗎？」
那位太太不講話，哭起來了。
「您發生了什麼事? 為什麼哭? 我們能為您做什麼？」
那位太太擦乾眼淚，設法回答，說：
「修女，妳們還記得去年妳們經過這裡留下一本書？」
「是啊，我們給您當憲兵的兒子留了一本書。」
「妳們還記得其他細節嗎? 我兒子對妳們粗暴無禮。」
「是的，不過後來他後悔了，他給了我們獻金，接受了福音書。」
「就是那本書改變了他的心，而奪走了我的愛。」
「請解釋一下，太太。」
「在那本書上有一句話說：「假如你們要成全，去變賣你們的一切，施捨給窮人，然後來跟隨我」。我的兒子想了很久，二個月後，他放棄了職位，去做修士了。」
於是我們設法叫那位母親了解，能有一個兒子奉獻給天主是有福的，這個恩寵是許多修女的犧牲所得來的，她們在各處會院工作，祈禱奉獻，使修女們的福傳能成功。
