虔誠必須是讓我們真正感受到需要天主

我們的虔誠不應該只為了履行一項對我們有壓力的責任，而結不出果實：虔誠必須是讓我們真正感受到需要天主；這帶領我們走向真正偉大的聖德。(RSp, 29)

La nostra pietà non deve essere una pietà sterile, compiuta solo per sbrigarci di un dovere che ci pesa: dev’essere una pietà che ci faccia sentire veramente il bisogno di
Dio; che ci faccia giungere veramente a una grande santità (RSp, 29).

Nuestra piedad no debe ser una piedad estéril, cumplida solo para tramitar un deber que nos pesa: ha de ser una piedad que nos haga sentir de veras la necesidad de Dios; que nos haga llegar verdaderamente a una gran santidad (RSp, 29).

Our piety must not be a sterile piety, carried out only to perform a duty that weighs on us: it must be a piety that makes us truly feel the need for God; which makes us truly attain great holiness (RSp, 29).
